Integration in North and East Areas

Integration makes sure every modification fits perfectly with its surroundings – like a giant, high-tech jigsaw puzzle. It’s about checking available space, teaming up with colleagues, and coming up with creative solutions together.

Our section, BE-EA-DC, keeps the CAD models of the North and East Areas fresh and up to date. These digital blueprints let us explore dimensions and understand the zones in detail. For instance, we can figure out exactly how much room a snowman would have to squeeze past the P42 dump in TT83. We can even tweak these models to see how new setups or changes would look. The best part? You’re the first to see new systems or experiments coming to life – it’s like a sneak peek into the future!

We also use laser scans to capture millions of precise points that create a 3D mesh. This mesh becomes the foundation for our CAD models, adding an extra layer of accuracy. Missing details in the model? No problem – those laser scans have our back, filling in the gaps.

Our days are filled with calls, meetings, presentations, and on-site visits, making sure everything along the beamline works smoothly and without any hiccups. One of the best parts of the job is working with experts from all over – physicists, electrical engineers, civil engineers, systems engineers – you name it. This diversity allows us to learn from each other!
