The NA-CONS integration

Within the NA-CONS project, the integration work package (WP) is under the BE-EA responsibility. This work package provides complete integration studies including all related 3D and 2D layout/assemblies. The areas concerned are all the facilities in the North Area starting from TCC2, including all the technical galleries, experimental halls, and auxiliary buildings (BA).

This WP faces many challenges, the first one is to have the compete complex in a as-built 3D models. This represents ~7 km of beam lines, 2 km of tunnels, 20’000m² of experimental halls and 6500m² of BA’s.

To help with this endeavor we use extensively the scanner, which allows us doing laser scans by our own, and make the post processing before the matching/update and the data transfer into our 3D models.

This allows us then doing detailed integration studies as for example for fire study, new power converters, beam line equipment, etc. All this design works are done thanks to the BE-EA design office team and TTE, who provide a very excellent and efficient support.
