The Cabling Team is dedicated to providing high-quality services to all CERN users, including the production of cables, electrical cabinets, and other equipment, as well as the installation and upkeep of interconnectivity systems in various CERN locations.
A modified version of the Cabling Team logo has been created to be used in all team related documents in order to start promoting high-quality activities and documentation.
The final design features the team members, a cable section, and the Experimental Areas. It also includes the words "CERN Cabling Team" and our mission statement, putting quality first.
We make an effort to uphold the principles of our quality logo as part of the team's identity. This logo deals with procedures that have four steps: plan, do, check, and act, as well as the 5S: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. The Cabling Team uses these concepts in a variety of ways, for as in the development of visual procedures like the one shown on the right. The Jobs Management Process outlines the steps we take to treat each of our jobs the same manner, ensuring that no stage is overlooked and that high-quality results are consistently achieved.

Resource optimization is key, along with developing procedures to guarantee that the appropriate approach is used to all productions and services.
To design the various functional sections and effectively utilize the available space, a workshop layout has been created using SketchUp.
Our team has over 200 crimping tools, and as part of the process of optimizing resources, customizable foams have been designed using a website called mycasebuilder.com. You might find it useful, as you can create your design online, it provides an estimated pricing and they are already registered in CERN’s supplier base. This enhancement in the tool storage gives you more control over your equipment and makes it easier for you to find them when you need to do urgent tasks.
